MURPHY
Meet Mr Murphy. Murphy is 7 months old and is a ton of fun. He is excited about life and will run around as long as you let him. He’s outgrown naps and is a lot of dog, especially if you’ve never had a border collie before. He was surrendered to us because he was too much for his previous owners.
Murphy loves everything and everyone. He’s shy with new things and will bork a little but if you give him a few seconds to realize its ok, he is fine. He can be soft so he does best with positive reinforcement. He takes corrections well. He’s also VERY sassy and will talk back. He lives with 5 other dogs right now and does well with all of them. Big and small, male and female. He’s housebroken. He is crate trained but will complain a little. Mostly just whines softly. He can stay in his crate a normal work day and not have accidents. He will also sleep through the night.
Murphy will need to go to an active home. He looks to us for
direction when we take him outside by himself. Loves toys and pretty
much anything he can grab but physical and mental stimulation are a
must. Search and rescue, herding, agility, scent work, trick dog etc.
He will not go to an apartment. A backyard with a physical fence is
required. No electric fences. He also would love to have a friend to
play with. There will be no exceptions to those rules. His foster dad
is going to be very picky where he goes. Murphy is located in Newport
